Mantra Tea sources this Long Jing from a unique tea variety grown only in San Xia, Taiwan. This Long Jin is grown by 4th generation award-winning tea masters. It is hand-plucked and processed before Gu Yu, the "Spring Rains" of the Chinese calendar. This is the time when Long Jing tea is considered of best quality.
Character:
The tea leaves are pressed flat, and have an aroma reminiscent of Nori and toasted caramel. The tea liquor is a glowing yellow with hues of pine tree, and the aroma has hints of lime. It is smooth and gentle to savor, and a perfect complement to seated meditation practice.
Preparation:
Please be sure to use a high quality spring or filter water, and not too hot about 70 Celsius. Green tea may turn bitter if handled improperly. Please refer to the Brewing Guide.
